Kembang Jangger Dance

Description :
The Jangger genre is unique in the Balinese dance repertoire because it is a popular social dance which includes singing by the male and female dancers themselves. The accompanying ensemble is also unique because it doesn't use the usual Kebyar ensemble but rather a Batel ensemble and a pair of Gender Wayang ensembles. The tuning of the ensembles is also different because it uses the five tone Slendro tuning rather than Pelog.
